I’m kind of obsessed with this Potsticker dinner lately. I don’t buy a lot of prepackaged processed foods. I mostly I try and cook from scratch, but I do love Asian foods. For those of us that are gluten free, we know we don’t always have a good substitute for some of the Asian-American classics like potstickers and egg rolls.

Wonton wrappers which potstickers and egg rolls are made from, traditionally have wheat in them, so are not gluten free.

Also to note, the Chinese traditional soy sauce most of us are familiar with, is brewed from wheat. So be aware of this when you eat at restaurants, or are searching out sauces at grocery stores. And be sure to ask lots of questions.

There is a gluten free soy sauce however called Tamari. Tamari is a Japanese style soy sauce made from fermented soy beans. This sauce is a darker and richer version, but I think they taste very similar. I don’t really notice the difference.

Since I have been gluten free, I have really missed potstickers.

I’ve come across a prepackaged GF version of pot stickers previously and they were just so so.

So when I found these GF Pork Potstickers recently from Feel Good Foods I was cautiously optimistic! They also have them in GF Chicken and GF Veggie versions!

And you know what? They are really good! I did zhuzh them up a little bit. And, I cook them a little different than the directions on the box….

Here’s what I do.

Gluten Free Pork Potstickers (Premade) Zhuzhed Up!

1 Box Feel Good Foods Pork Pot Stickers
3 Baby Bok choy bundles chopped
6-8 Green onions chopped, just the greens
1 hand full of Mung Bean Sprouts
1/3 Cup water
1-2 Tablespoons Unrefined Organic Sesame Oil
Redmonds Real Salt to taste

1. Take the potstickers out of the freezer.
2. Open the package and put the potstickers on a plate and let them thaw for about 30 minutes.
3. Heat a skillet to medium heat with the sesame oil.
4. Once hot, add the pot stickers to the pan.
5. Sauté each side until brown.
6. Once browned, add 1/3 cup water to the pan, turn the heat down to low and cover for about 10-12 minutes.
7. In the meantime chop 3 bundles of baby bok choy. 🥬
8. Chop the greens of 6-8 green onions.
9. Grab a handful of bean sprouts.
10. Combine all the veggies onto one plate
11. When the potstickers are done remove them from the pan, and place on a serving dish.
12. Turn the heat back up to medium.
13. Add the veggies to the hot pan, and saute for 3ish minutes (if you need more oil, you could add a touch more).
14. Add in the Redmond’s Real Salt to taste.
15. Add the veggies to the potstickers, and enjoy!!

This made about 1 meal. Maybe 1.25 meals. One box says it has 11 potstickers in it.

With GF foods, the boxes are often a little bit small. Although, I thought this was pretty robust comparative to another brand I tried.

Also… I found these potstickers in the Mpls/St Paul area in Whole Foods (they were priced best here), Lunds & Byerlys, and Fresh Thyme.

Enjoy! Let me know if you give it a try!
